In my last post I talked about a little trip we took to Shevlin Park for a two mile hike along the creek. After that we did a little shopping and then headed into downtown Bend for some lunch. We decided to hit McMenamins for a post walk bite and something to drink.
McMenamins has several locations through out the Pacific Northwest of the United States. They started out as a brewery but have since moved into hotels, restaurants, theatres, brewpubs, concerts... all sorts of entertainment related activities. One thing they like to do is buy old buildings and renovate them into new types of establishments. This one is in the Old St. Francis School. Here are a couple old posts I did of McMenamins Edgefield near Portland OR 1, 2. A visit to one of their establishments is always a special treat. They are usually filled with eclectic artwork and pieces, not to mention a ton of small details that always make each visit unique. :)
The Cigar Shack or Hugh O'Kane's

This is a stained glass window in the cigar shack. An old building outside the main building that was turned into a little bar and cigar store.
Another shot from the booth we were sitting in.
A little pano and fun with perspective from the booth. :)
A shot of one of the many fire pits in the outdoor area surrounding Hugh O'Kane's
A look at Hugh O'Kane's main entrance.
The Main Building
Here is a shot looking up from the bar at some of the detailed painting on the walls. Probably an area that most people would never even look at.
Some more of the detail on the bar.
A shot of all the booze hovering over the bartender's heads.
Some of the reclaimed/repurposed light sources.
An etched glass window in a door leading to one of the dining rooms.
One last piece of art. Hope you enjoyed the mini tour. :)
