Today we made another trip to visit two famous Slovenian touristic sites. It was a long exhausting day but we enjoyed it very much.
In the next couple of posts, I'll try to present them to you. My writing in English is still not good enough to go into details, but if you want to find out more you know whom to ask.
Predjama castle was mentioned for the first time in 1274, but 1570 was renovated and got today's form and shape.
It was unbeatable and with secret tunnels in the back connected with the outside world to get the supplies.
Dravbridge at the entrance.
Coat-of-arms and statue of one of many owners.
Stunnig woodcraft.
Erazem Predjamski was the most famous and known knight.
Behind the arched doors were the horse stables.
The openings above the entrance served for throwing rocks and boiling oil on intruders.
You can see how easy and fun task it was.
They can use more sophisticated and stinky weapons in case of an emergency.
Thick walls and heavy iron bars.
Another layer of protection.
Stay tuned for more.
