Hello everyone! Or ‘hej’, as we say it in Swedish. ;)
asked for more posts about Sweden, so here it comes! Last Saturday a good friend of mine, whom I met in San Francisco a year ago, was visiting Uppsala and I showed him around that historical Swedish town. It’s a kind of Swedish Oxford, for those of you who never heard of Uppsala before).
Here are some of the pictures I took on that beautiful spring day:

Uppsala Castle used to be a royal seat of some of Sweden's monarchs of old. And the former Secretary General of the United nations, Dag Hammarskjöld, grew up in the castle, as his dad was the Governor of the Uppsala County at that time.
There was an international cycling race happening on that day in the central part of town, I shot a short video of the competition. As I happened to be recording exactly at noon, you can also hear the beautiful ringing of the Uppsala Cathedral's bells:
And here’s the Cathedral itself, in black and white:
Besides the Cathedral, Uppsala is a home to a large international university, libraries and research centers (Anders Celsius, Carl Linnaeus and Hans Rosling used to live and work in Uppsala), interesting museums, charming cafés and exquisite restaurants. If you ever come to Sweden, make sure to visit Uppsala! I'll be happy to be your Steem-guide! ;)
