The Pit Cenote, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico
Under the surface of Mexico's Yucatan peninsula run thousands of kilometres of underwater rivers. Thought as of the entrances to the underworld and revered by The Maya, these entrances are known as Cenotes.
Today it's possible to dive in these, this particular cenote is called The Pit and is currently the deepest known cave passage in the area at 120m.
