There was a vacant storefront for a period in Downtown Jacksonville across the street from the Jacksonville Public Library. I used to pass it quite often when I would be taking my kids to the library to rent books and one day I decided that I should take some pictures of it before they took the sign down. I decided to take the picture in black & white as it seemed to fit the vibe it gave off.
I wish that when I took the picture that I took the time to investigate a bit more about the history of the storefront but alas I did not. At least I have the picture to share with everyone here. š
I would like to know what kind of vibe you get when you see this picture and see the storefront title 'Needless Things?' Does it give you a vintage retro feel where black & white does this photo justice? That pretty much sums up the feeling I got from it when I would see it.
Are there any old buildings or storefronts in your area where you live? Have you ever thought about making posts dedicated to urban decay, deindustrialisationā, gentrification and modern ruins? I do find such things fascinatingā to discoverā the history behind the old ruins and pictures.
