To them it is an exciting game! But they will remember how they handled their first slide for the rest of their lives!
Confidence and smiles all over the place! No child (and there have been many) has ever been hurt on the slide! They cling to the bar for dear life. And of course after the first slide they immediately want more! This is confidence building!
And here goes another little one! See what I mean by clinging to the bar for dear life? He seems to be more interested in the workings of the bar than in the slide itself! Maybe a future Engineer?
It is an awesome adventure for the little ones and it is going to be worth a lot to their self confidence.
My first experience of a "slide" was inside an old car's bonnet turned upside down, from the top of a mine dump.
5 or six of us kneeling inside the bonnet picked up a tremendous speed down on the steep silky sand.
And oh woe, we had no brakes at the bottom and there were many injuries. I have many scars to remind me of our adventures.
The slide is situated on a farm that focusses on child development and it is about 30 minutes from our place. (I also do a lot of photography there in the wetlands during our fitness walks).
Children are introduced to animals and taught about their lifestyles! They can hug a pig, help to milk a cow, go on their first horse ride, or take part in many other first time activities for all children.
I will end this post with a joke! The pony stopped twice during this little girl's ride and looked directly at Lady Marian (my wife), he was hoping for a carrot, as she feeds them treats whenever we go for walks. The little girl will remember that a "horse" stops for no reason! Both her and the handler looked perturbed at the sudden stopping action of the pony, but you can see where the pony is looking! Lol.
