Photographing some flowers I came across a bold jumper (Phidippus audax) spider sitting on a flower's leaf. He was holding something conspicuous so I went in for a closer look.
Ah it's a little insect nymph! Quite a big meal.
He hopped over to another flower's leaf with his lunch.
So I got closer (and cropped too).
Later on I found one of his cousins not too far away. Check out his iridescent chelicerae (mouth parts)!
These are cool little spiders! I wish my macro lens had a bit more reach because they're tiny. I cropped these shots down to show them better.
