This is a big balancing granite boulder in Hampi, India. Hampi is full of such rocks. These rocks are not formed because of volcanoes... instead, these rocks/boulders were once a part of huge mountain of rock. Because of the erosion over 10 of millions of years, the surface of the monoliths cracked and split and gradually meta morphed into its present forms. Many rocks pieces that lost balance, formed heaps and the ones that managed to balance itself remained in such a amazing state.
