Hi Friends!
After last very interesting good results using an old analog lens from Pentax I decided to try my another ZOOM lens called Exakta 70-210mm f/2.8 - f/4.
As You can see the parameters of this glass are very good - big range of zoom and very good light.
We can expect that such settings can give us a very big funcionality and a nice bokeh on open apertures.
I must say that the first tests were very promissing BUT after checking the images on my computer in full size mode I discovered that this lens has really big issues with sharpness.
Image quality, especially on the borders, is very poor.
We have to close the aperture at least to f8-f10 to improve the sharpness.
Quite a big vignette and chromatic abberation is also a visible problem.
Cheap lens with great features? Not this time - the quality in many settings are simply not acceptable for me.
Anyway - I will continue trying out this lens to find the best settings and to get know it a lottle better as I believe it is a great tool for not only landscape photography but for MACRO photography thanks to its's soft light/shadows and beautiful smooth bokeh.
In this gallery - a pack of landscape images from the forest - late autumn time.
