Wine was made in England during Roman times and has continued sporadically ever since, However today the climate and the geological terrain are very similar to the Champagne region in France which is why in the South east of England they are producing very good champagne style sparkling wines and some of the French champagne houses are investing heavily in the area.
Here you can see the vines growing,
Here is a shot of the wine being bottled and having the foil and seal applied.
These wines have won many awards and are now internationally recognised for their quality. This are was famous for hop growing for beer but now their wines are just as famous.
Cheers!
