I visited Florence on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning and the sights outside were at their spectacular best not to mention the obvious museum and gallery sites.
The river runs through the centre of the city and provides the backdrop for many of the views and bridges. In Florence you are overwhelmed with a sense of style and elegance and power from a former time. Style is everywhere and art seems to be around every corner.
It is like you are in a modern living museum from the 14th Century to the 21st century, I guess the Renaissance lives on.
The Ponte Vecchio with its shops etc epitomises this. Great city to walk around and have fun and romance.!
