I shot this rhododendron bush a few months back. We had an unseasonably cold spring here in Vancouver, with only a few warm days. The bush took advantage of one of those days to bloom its gorgeous wine blush petals but then was hit with a cold snap shortly after. Fortunately the rhododendron is as hearty and it is beautiful and alluring. Its edges were damaged but rather than complaining with a drab brown, it instead turned lamé. Fabulous. The reproductive center remained intact and six-footed intermediaries still goy to dance.

A very illuminating conversation between Russell and Vandana Shiva. Corporate media will frame things to transfer power and land into their always hungry hands.
From my Rumble Response ...
'Animal feed' is mainly non-edible by -products from mono-cropping for human consumption, food that is largely devoid of nutrition, in comparison to meat, and full of non-nutrients, foods that interfere with nutrient absorption. Blaming animal agriculture is a red-herring. I agree with Master Shiva on many points, but I have said this before and I will say this again ... animals are NOT bad for the environment. Pastured animals maintain soil and sequester NET carbon. Balanced animal agriculture can be virtually chemical input free. Animals are essential to land health, and over the long, run essential to human health. The land evolved with its animals. A healthy tract of land is FULL of animals. And the thing about animal agriculture when done in a nurturing and restorative way, it requires people and feeds them locally.

The Tao understands the way of life
She is both mother and creator
She understands the greater the activity
The greater the need for rest
She allows the sun to rise to its zenith
To have it slowly fall back beneath the horizon
The Tao grants to the extremes
Seasons of great plenty, seasons of deep sleep
For those that exist in the medium
There is balance and continuity, longevity
Should you be called upon to govern
Be it a child, an industry, a nation
Be as the Tao; be as a mother
Maintain moderation and balance
See to your child’s longevity
