Oz or Kansas
I realized my profile pics scattered across the internet were all at least two years old. It is time for a change. I was feeling particularly merry the other day and took a selfie and then played around with filters and such. Now, I can't choose. Should I go with the color shot and the bright sunny world of OZ. Don't go chewing on my ruby slippers, Toto.
Or should we stay in the classic but icy world of monochrome Kansas? ( I know I should have published this on Monday. Shout out to and #monocromemonday.)
Seriously ... help me define myself ... online. I will leave you with a little poetry to help you along. Our story is a love story after all.
Internet Love
To you, my dearest poet
A thousand electrical kisses
Delivered on the effervescent ether
Of our not-so-defined, wireless future
Some say our love is immaterial; that it’s transitory
That we’re two lonely surfers, merely digital
In love with avatars, willingly delusional
But my heart swells with every click of the mouse
And our connection strengthens
Reality who needs it …
Some surreal tale about spoilt Kardashians
Me, I’ll take the not-so-real virtual
I’ll take internet love with you
Internet Love is published in Strays. It is available here and available in paperback and digital. It can also be ordered in through your local libraries and bookstores.
