On my second teaching trip to Arizona I had a cancellation up in the northern part. I had flown there and it would've cost too much to change my plane ticket and just go home so I decided to make the most of it. I was down in Phoenix which is roughly 4 hours or so from the Grand Canyon. I got up early one morning and made the drive. It's one of the best decisions I ever made. Looking at the Grand Canyon on television or some other medium does not do it justice. You can't comprehend just how massive it is without actually being there. I took the below pictures a little later in the day before nightfall. I was there a total of 11 hours and will probably be posting a lot more pictures from there. Hope you enjoy!
The Grand Canyon should definitely be on your bucket list if you have never been there. Admission is free but when I was there in 2013 parking cost $25 but it's for an entire week. There are various buses that run all day to take you around to the various viewpoints. Definitely check it out if you have a chance and have a wonderful day!
