Hey.
I just spent an hour scrolling through your homeschooling-related posts. While you are one of the most difficult women I've ever encountered, you are also, I suspect, one of the best. And, without doubt ... one of the best moms.
Kudos.
About said salutation, consider the source.
A month ago, Katie graduated Summa Cum Laude (major in Biochemistry and a minor in Microbial Pathogenesis). She will be getting a certificate in Neuroscience (whatever that means) in the fall and then enrolling in her PhD (Medical Biosciences). Her boyfriend, Kaleb (a great guy and very likely my future son-in-law), will be graduating with a double-major in Aeronatical & Mechanical Engineering next semester and will then move on to his PhD. (They were home last weekend and we played Genius Level Trivial Pursuit ... I MASSIVELY SLAUGHTERED them both even though I allowed them to cheat their asses off. Apparently, Ol' Quill still has something to teach the young ones.)
Thus far, none of this has cost me a penny ... 100% academic scholarships. And, Katie just received another $13K scholarship to pay for the aforementioned Neuroscience certificate. YAHOO!!! I love scholarships beyond what words can articulate. Alas, we're still working on obtaining father/father-in-law privileges at various laboratories. You'd be surprised by the level of resistance. Snotty pricks ... they won't let me in!!! (Insert three Unhappy Face emojis.) Apparently, father/father-in-law laboratory privileges is ... "not a thing." Does it not occur to anyone to question how these kids got to be so smart? Arrrgh.
Anyway, if ever you need help with tutoring (free), the House of Savage is at your disposal. And, of course, if ever there is a need to learn how to write poetry properly ... I am at your beck and call. (Insert three smarty-pants emojis.)
: Ditto on the great woman and mom comment ... you too.
Quill
