One of the reasons I love taking pictures in nature is that it puts me in a meditation like state. I focus on what surrounds me while I keep my attention floating until something catches my eyes.
I also love taking close-ups and macrophotography, uncovering the beauty of the tiny things that we most often don't even notice.
Like these pebbles:
And holding a camera in my arms allows me to take my time, look around and sometimes do stuff that otherwise would be regarded as weird: like kneeling down in the middle of the road and getting very, very close to the pebbles, cobbles or tiny plants that I encounter.
Taking pics in a conscious way literally makes me rediscover my surroundings and look at the world from new and fresh perspectives while I experiment with different angles.
And when I later see the close-ups on my computer I'm often amazed that there is so much beauty hidden under our noses.
Then sharing these pics here on Steemit adds another layer of delight and surprises. Sometimes a pic that I like very much and that I think will receive a lot of upvotes and comments, goes by unnoticed. Other times a photo that I don't consider extraordinary gets an awesome feedback.
This teaches me to continue to share my photography without any expectations and to allow myself to be surprised. :)
