My first outdoor Macro shots proved to be more challenging than I expected.
The level of detail I was able to capture was certainly deeper, but I could also tell I have a lot to learn.
Items like this lichen were easy and rewarding.
Simple flowers, not too bad.
This Brown Anole lizard illustrates the challenge I encountered where the focus was so specific that it was hard to get the whole subject in detail, and instead most of the picture was blurry.
The bumblee bee picture shows that the items in focus look great, but I just couldn't pull off getting the entire bumblee bee in detail.
I thought this picture worked well, and there was more detail then I would obtain from my non-macro lenses.
But again here in this picture, the grasshopper's body and head have some nice detail, but the small legs are totally out of focus and the big leg lacks detail.
I think the flowers looked decent but I need to play with the settings and find the right mix.
I am a novice but eager to learn. If anyone has any advice please share your wisdom! Even if I am not totally satisfied with the results, I enjoy the process and outcome of my photography.
