My wife and I had a business trip to Seattle and visited the Chihuly Garden and Glass, which is right next to the Seattle Space Needle. The immensity and beauty of the art is absolutely incredible. As we walked from room to room we exhaled and gasped as we visualized each new piece.
Dale Chihuly was a man born and raised in Washington State who had little interest in pursuing higher education. Before dropping out of college, Chihuly learned how to melt and fuse glass. His passion for the arts drove him to study in Florence, Italy. Dale was later encouraged to further his studies, which he did when he returned to the United States and graduated from the University of Washington in 1965. His glass blowing began back in 1965. Since then Dale Chihuly has become the leading glass blowing expert and artist in the world.
All images but one are my own. The picture of Dale Chihuly at the very end is licensed as a creative commons photo and properly attributed. The rest were all taken with an iPhone 6s and Samsung Galaxy 8. No filters have been added to my photos. I hope you enjoy seeing this art as much as I did.
I threw in a couple more photos from our night.
