Hi, Dear Steemian Friends. Today I would like to bring you to one of the unknown temples of Chiang Mai. This Temple is not a Thai style temple but a Chinese one. It is called Kuan Im Chokchai. There are two temples of its kind in the world the other one is situated in Hong Kong - China. After living here for such a long time I am very surprised to see that most of Chiang Mai peoples don't know about this temple. But instead of locals, it is well known by Chinese tourist that come here by bus and spend a few days around the temple. Today, the temple has built a nice hotel next to the temple and in the style of the temple to accommodate Chinese tourist. One of the milestones of the temple is the biggest full body dragon in the world. You can walk in the body of the dragon where the life of Buddha is painted on the walls and end up on the top of a Kuan Im shrine and go down in the body of a tiger and go out from his mouth. If you want to follow the rules of the temple you will have to stop at the little shop at the entrance and buy some incenses, they will provide it with a paper to follow the instruction. You will have to make a special path starting with the Shiva statue and continue along many divinities and burn a special number of incenses to each statue. It is a nice place to relax as there is little people. It has a strange feels too and if you have the chance to come during the vegetarian festival, you will try some good food given for free to people coming to the temple. The follower of Kuan Im are vegetarian. I've take the opportunity to bring some friends there to take some pictures.
