When I started to get serious about taking pictures more than a few good photographers said that I had to make a choice. The choice they were referring to was that I had to choose what I liked taking pictures of and shoot it as often as I could. I see the benefits of that philosophy but I can't imagine following it. It feel like someone one telling me that I have to eat just one flavour of ice cream for the rest of my ice cream eating days. That is not me!
I love to shoot what catches my eye.
There is a freedom to reaching in my bag, putting on my macro lens and shooting up close all day. I like that I can let the day decide what I am going to shoot. I don't plan on making buckets of money off my passion (and shooting weddings all day - would make me want to never pick up a camera again) anytime soon so I think shooting what makes me feel good is better (for me) than shooting what I am good at on any given day. So these are a few from a day that I reached in to my bag and decided to throw on my telephoto lens. Shoot your passion... or in my case shoot what makes you feel passionate that day.
