Butea monosperma or better known as palash or tesu is a tree native to India. It is also known as flame of the forest due to its colors of flowers which are orange vermilion in colors. These trees grow upto 40 feet and they give beautiful flowers when their leaves fall completely in the months of March to May. In India these flowers are used in various ways. During the festival of Holi , these flowers are dried and colors are made for holi celebration. Women use them as their cosmetic stuff. During the religious ceremonies, it's bark is used in the fire. These trees are covered with these flowers in the months of March to June and look really very beautiful.
