The Long Hiatus By: Aaron Yeoman Charing Cross Underground Station, London, England Well, a big Hello again everyone! I thought I better upload a photo to let you all know I am still here. My apologies for not uploading as of late, I have had a break away from my photography. I felt that I needed some time away from my photography, I found myself editing photos and never being entirely happy with them which I found quite frustrating which meant they never got uploaded. I feel this break has helped me and refreshed my eyes and I seem to be enjoying editing my photos and taking photos again. I have also recently got married so enjoying married life and also been concentrating on my swimming, another passion of mine. However I now have a list as long as my arm of places I want to visit, especially back down in London. Been seeing loads of new places to photograph down in London so want to visit them, being over 200 miles away from London now I don't get chance to visit down there as much as I would like to

Hindu temple BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in London, United Kingdom By: KS Photography! Walking on the streets of London I chanced upon a Hindu temple, it was BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir. This beautiful sight of the white carved temple with red flags flying on the pinnacle and the clear blue sky was the most tranquil place to be. The facade of this temple was grand having one dome shaped and five cone shaped structures with intricate carving. Each tip of these spires had golden Kalash on it to give it a rich look. One of the most prominent features of the heritage of Swaminarayan is temple architecture. The temples built by Swaminarayan are the evidence of the priority of Lord Krishna in Hinduism. At that time, collections of casts were numerous in both Europe and the United States. Carnegie Museum of Art’s collection survives today as the largest architectural cast collection in the country, rivaled internationally only by collections in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and in the Musée National des Monuments Français, Paris. Pittsburgh’s architectural cast collection is distinguished for having remained essentially intact in the grand skylit space designed especially for it, Architecture Hall, which was itself inspired by one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus. UK - London - Photo24 2016 - Hyde Park - Serpentine Pavilion 01_DSC0115 By: Darrell Godliman An 8mm fisheye shot from the Bjarke Ingels Group Serpentine Pavilion in Hyde Park. Squeezed a quick visit in during this years #Photo24. Admittedly slightly confusing but definitely one of my favourites. I was slightly worried at seeing quite a bit of deformation in the fibreglass boxes that form the structure from when I first visited it a week earlier. If you're thinking of visiting it might be worth going sooner rather than later. .

I always wonder what all the old wooden remains in the river Thames are. These can only be seen at low tide. Are they old piers from the times when wooden vessels travelled up and down the river? In London often you can capture several eras in a single snap. . . another thing I love about this city!

Down by the Docks By: Leigh Cousins RAW Always wanted to try this angle of Canary Wharf from the South Dock, and I just happened to be passing by as the sun was setting and thought I'd take a detour for a quick shot. I was very happy to see the calm water offering great reflections and the breaks in the clouds added some nice light but just as I took my first picture the blue logo of Barclays turned off! - Trying to save money perhaps. . .

Last week while out shooting I was almost finished for the day without any good pics when I stumbled on this fellow who was too busy looking for food to notice me. I snapped off about a couple dozen shots and this pose turned out to be the one.

Dwain - Stranger 286/300 By: rojwhitelock This is Dwain. He works at Barber Barber in Spitalfields and as you may have guessed, he's a barber. Dwain was taking a cigarette breaks as I wandered by and his moustache and dapper fashion sense immediately caught my eye. So I was delighted when Dwain agreed to be photographed in a lilting Irish accent. It was a hot day and the sun was glaring down, with very little in the way of nearby shade. I positioned Dwain in front of grey backdrop then underexposed the image dramatically, allowing the sunlight to act like a studio light while dropping the backdrop back to near darkness. As Dwain took an occasional puff on his cigarette smoke swirled about him and added perfectly to the atmosphere of the shot

Boudicca By: James Waghorn {Explore 08/06/2016] The rebel queen Boudicca (or Boadicea) is a personification of British freedom and defiance who led the Iceni people against the Roman rulers of Britain in AD60 or 61 and destroyed London, Colchester and St Albans. On her way back from a campaign in Wales, the Roman governor defeated the Iceni in the tribe’s last battle. It is thought that Boudicca killed herself on the battlefield.

As you can see, the sky is pretty moody and I was trying to avoid a quick sharp shower and not get the Nikon wet. If you look closely, you can just make out the London Eye in the background and also the reflection on the roof terrace. . . . I thought that there is a nice bit of colour on the horizon considering it was very overcast

189:200 Strangers - Corrie By: iain blake Having had a wander along the Southbank, London, it was one of those occasions where I found a background I wished to use for a stranger portrait. I saw Corrie walking along and thought her style and look would be perfect. Corrie who lives and works in London was having a day out in company with her cousin Emma. A slightly different spin on things with regards to my finding out a little about Corrie, I asked Emma to describe her. "Corrie is kind, funny and has a different way of looking at things in life. Dream view from the Blue Bridge ( St James' Park) By: Patrizia Ilaria Sechi A couple of weeks ago, I decided to dedicate a whole day to photograph the lavish inflorescence of the cherry blossoms in St James' Park ( I will soon post some photos) as there are perhaps no other flowers that have the power of mesmerizing me for hours, as those pink, heavenly beautiful clouds of petals. I tried various compositions and I was photographing the trees reflected on the water from the Blue bridge when I turned my face towards the opposite side of the bridge and I saw this spectacular golden cloud. . . The Horse Guards building and the London Eye were bathed in the glorious, warm pastel shades of the twilight. I changed my perspective and I took as many shots of this view as I possibly could. Some moments have to be crystallized forever
