Hello Steemians, today I went to a gallery exhibition in Moganshan Road, Shanghai. The theme is on Cyberpunk culture. Cyberpunk movies concerning contradiction among artificial intelligence, hacker and corporations are becoming more and more common these days. Popularity of this genre reflects our panic and pessimism of an unknown future. All of them try to address basic philosophy questions like: Who are we? Where are we from? Where is the destination?
Under the pressure of scientific advancement, our souls are confused of their existence. Could we be replaced by technology? The unsettled sentiment makes these Cyberpunk movies even more widespread. As a result, the creators of Elite Creature Collectibles(ECC)-- Steven Wang, Eddie Yang and Ikeada Akihito --- made the sophisticated character models to hold this exhibition.
Fantasy creatures that derived from both reality and imagination are created by sculptor David Zhou. Even though made of materials, their physical body is filled with ingenuity and painstaking care, thus resonate with our heart beat when seeing them. (All pictures are taken by myself, granted by exhibitors.)
