Working on a Sunday isn't my cup of tea but if my work requires it then it's a task I wouldn't mind to take once in a while. Aside from my regular work, I have a small business to manage and attend to as well as taking care of my preschooler. I just squeeze in Steemit and learning about cryptocurrencies during my free time.
But what does it mean to really relax?
For a workaholic like me, I have mentioned before that time is gold and that we take each second seriously. Taking a long vacation makes me feel guilty because I feel unproductive. Being such is not a crime but it should not be at the expense of our health and well-being. With that being said, it's important that we squeeze in a bit of our busy time to chill and rest our minds. Some people just come home to sleep after a long day's work, and sometimes it can be overwhelming in the long run. There are a lot of ways you can incorporate a bit of a "me" time or a pause to relax and loosen up a bit. Some may do meditation such as yoga, exercise, read a book, watch videos it really depends on each individual.
So even if I was at work, I just meditated on my surroundings and found the beauty around it. And so I was able to take photos of ground flowers along the footpath of the vicinity during my field work.
To say these flowers are beautiful is an understatement, the more I appreciate God's creation and able to see them more than just part of plants or ornaments to beautify the surroundings. I see them as partners of our existence and as reminders to give importance to relaxation as we battle the challenges of work and challenges in life.
Let's always remind ourselves that it wouldn't hurt to de-stress in a day.
