Hello guys. Hey girls.
I am doing a little photo journey of Slovenia, my beautiful home. Most of the photos were taken by me, with couple exceptions in the end.
Slovenia is a small member or European Union. It is inhabited by aprox. 2 mio people. It borders Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. 60% of Slovenia are forests and landscape is overall very diverse. From unique Karst region, to coastline, Alpine Mountains and neverending wineyards.
Lake Cerknica is truly an inspirational place. It is an intermittent lake, which means that it drains out during the summer and autumn. It drains through sinkholes which can be seen in the first few pictures. Photographies were taken very early in the morning in the beginning of october.
Cities in Slovenia are small and somehow special. Every town has a distinct feature and it's own historical background. This lands have been settled for many years and a lot of the cities lay on the ruins of roman colonies. Ljubljana (Emona), Ptuj (Poetovio), Celje (Celea) and many more. Photographies were not taken by me.
