This morning I went out for a walk with my son to grab some snacks for a celebration! We walked along the seaside/beach, and I decided to make a panorama shot with my cell phone.
The high-res version of the picture can be found here.
Slovenia has four cities located by the sea; Koper, Piran, Portoroz, and Izola. These do not have the "traditional" sand beaches, but here you walk on stones as you walk into the water. It might not be the most delightful feeling for your feet, and that is why most people use special sandals on their feet. This is also to stay protected against sea urchins, small black creatures which are very painful to step at.
At first, I missed the sand beaches when I came here. But, since I have kids, I have learned to enjoy it. My kids love diving in the water, looking for sea stars, crabs, sea-cucumbers, sea-urchins, hermit-crabs, and all other stuff they can find. They can spend hours just looking for treasures next to and under all the stones... What a gift!
