The Sun sets on the horizon over the Eldorado Mountains in the Mojave Desert above the Colorado River.
In the foreground on this side of the river is Fire Mountain, the Colorado River flows in the bottom of the canyon and on the other side of the river are the Eldorado Mountains.
In the distance on the left are the Highland Mountain Range and on the far left are the New York Mountains. This is all located in southern Nevada deep within the Mojave Desert.
I lensed this image while returning late in the day after exploring the desert wilderness south of the Grand Canyon.
This image is from my ongoing project in which I am trying to raise awareness of the 47% of the USA and 90% of Canada that remain unpopulated wilderness.
Where Eagles Fly - The American Wilderness Expedition is my personal mission to introduce people to these amazing locations that surround us.
