Wildfire scars are still visible all over northern California. This chardonnay vineyard was saved by neighbors on horseback, pulling water from the russian river, long enough for CalFire to show up. The owner told us only 8 vines actually burned, which he thinks is a miracle.
Saracina Chardonnay vintage 2017, they say you can taste the smoke and it makes the wine more valuable.
