This is probably the most impressive car at the Bonneville salt flats.
This is a 1971 Triumph GT-6 that was designed to be a 400 MPH car. It has been lengthened, roof chopped, and converted to front wheel drive. This car is so much faster than any other car in its class and other like classes that it holds the record about 100 MPH faster than anyone else has gone. While everyone else is shooting for 300 MPH, this car is shooting for 400 MPH. They are doing this with a small block Chevy motor. They were able to reach 380 MPH average speed on one of their runs back in 2012 but were not able to repeat that run and set a new record. Their data logger recorded 387 MPH top speed at which point the rev limiter kicked in. This car currently holds the record of the world's fasted modified car of 364.051 MPH.
Unfortunately, the car was plagued with mechanical problems this year. They made some attempts, but intercooler leaks caused water to get into the 2200 HP engine.
The rumor is that this car has no instruments in the dash. They are above the windscreen because the driver had an accident that left him blind below a certain level in his visual field. The drive can see above the dash, but not below the dash.
