With all of its vigorous growth the plant decided to make a single flower. I was expecting many flowers, only one or two sweet potato cutting were planted so maybe that's normal for these vines.
If I was growing yellow or white potatoes this flower would be a sign that the potatoes are almost ready underground. Though I heard you can also grow them all season. I'm planning on growing them till the leaves turn yellow.
The flower reminds me of Morning Glory. It resembles it due to the being in the same family. Interestingly the above ground fruit potatoes may produce can be toxic but not the underground spuds.
One flower in its lonesome, I saw a hummingbird check it out earlier so hopefully the flower will achieve its function and get pollinated. Maybe I can get seeds from the flower.
