It's amazing how photos work, or more specifically looking at photos that have ever been taken. Memories flash in the head. For a second you are transported to this place, you not only see it, but you feel it, you remember, all the attributes belonging to it.
This is the magic of photography - the instant transportation, the instant activation of all brain cells, neurons, the subconscious, the body... because the body stores everything - all the knowledge and all the experience. Well, it's not as complicated as it probably sounds. But here I am looking through photo albums and I instantly remember. Why have I photographed this large gate with a sign in German, photographed in a Bulgarian seaside town. Then, that evening, I had already seen several other signs on the houses. They were all in foreign languages and from foreign countries. However, I only shot the last one.
Maybe I was too amazed and that's why I didn't think to take pictures of the others. Yes, I regretted it later.
I remember this closed establishment. It was closed due to the pandemic at the time. I filmed it because it was quite interesting. It had a lovely nautical decoration with a fishing net and seashells on the side. And although there were two chairs in front and the windows were half open, it somehow looked strangely desolate and abandoned.
And this sign lying on the beach. A rather sad but common sight. Quite symbolic. It once stood for something, carried information or guidance. Now it lies useless on the ground. It kind of fits with the picture above, with the abandonment and desolation.
Anyway, I wanted to say that every picture taken has a meaning and there was a reason for it to be taken. It does not only carry information. It brings much more. All from that now irrevocably past moment.

Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you. |
