Today we revisit 2006 and a lovely walk along the Ridgeway. The point this was taken was around a 40 minute walk from the house near Ivinghoe in Buckinghamshire.
The Ridgeway is thought to be Britains oldest road (well track) and is thought to have been used by travellers for at least 5000 years. Much of the trail is built on high ground which was thought to provide traders and unobstructed view to warn them against potential attacks. Wikipedia documents "The Ridgeway is one of four long-distance footpaths that combine to run from Lyme Regis (South Coast) to Hunstanton (North Nofolk on the East Coast).
