I've been sleeping pretty well recently in the chase to look after myself and get into a healthier place mentally. Not that I find work particularly stresseful, being off work for a few weeks has certainly helped matters. Maybe it's running around with the kids a little more.
Can you overdose on sleep? My body seemed to think so as I was wide awake at 02:30 this morning after 4 hours kip. I lounged about for a little while before getting up to clean the kitchen, wash bedding and enjoy a coffee in the garden. It also got a loaf of bread in the machine for the eldest daughter's morning mountain of toast. The dog was looking at me longingly by 06:00 so we got to the beach to allow her to do the things she needs to do first thing, and to also watch the sunrise.
We headed to the shoreline but then retreated to the dunes. A dog called Blue that has attached Lola in the past was taking her owner for a walk. We kept our distance as I really didn't want a repeat this early in the day (although tempremental and occasionally agressive, she is often off the lead without a muzzle).
Once they were a good distance away we headed to the shoreline. The tide was approaching maximum out status which usually makes for easy walking. Today it had taken lots of sand with it which meant it was a rather crunchy walk on shingle.
There were a couple of boats between us and the windfarm. Can you spot the local fisherman? For clarity they're not in the big safe looking thing with lights.
I thought the grass framed the sun rather nicely as we headed into the dunes to head north to the car.
Not much to say about these final two other than how lovely the colours were this morning. The camera zoom seems to turn the image more orange/gold vs the slightly fresher looking wide angle.
We were out for about an hour before I started to get the "I'm hungry look" from the pooch. To be honest it was about time for another coffee. Once that that out the way it was time for a little "garage gym" session. I was ready for a nap by lunch time!
