Old Billy the koala got himself in a bit of a scrap and came off second best, losing an eye. He’s being taken care of by the wonderful staff at “Hamilton Island wild life sanctuary.”
The sanctuary looks after any of the injured wildlife found on the island and has become a fantastic place for tourists visiting the island to get up close and personal with some of our native animals.
Every time I see old Billy, he is in this almost drunken or stoned position up the tree in the cafe. The eucalyptus leaves they eat make the high as a kite!!
I have not gone through the sanctuary myself, but I plan to. I shall do a post about it when I do.
