My grandmother planted these almost 90 years ago at the entrance to our driveway. Each year their blossoms remind me of her.
I copy my grandmother and always try and find things for my gardens that will be planted once and bloom for generations.
The sweet peas are a excellent example of this.
They give good fodder for our bees in the summer as well.
Also the sweet pea is a legume meaning it provides a host to the nitrogen fixing bacteria that help to fertilize the soil.
All this and a beautiful and sweet smelling flower as well.
