I recently purchased the LX10 Lumix Compact camera.
Discouraged with the quality of photos that my Samsung Note 4 was providing me and not always wanting to lug around a SLR camera - I've been looking for a small camera that provided great quality images
( I just know, an SLR will sit at home after 6 months..)
Overall, I think this the perfect camera for bloggers or even for those that just want to be able to quickly get high quality photos and videos online - it couldn't be easier and the quality couldn't be better. Not to mention that this camera will take your selfie game to a whole new level with it's flip up screen.
The software available for smartphone to communicate with this camera is very good.
(See later in this review.)
I really like many features about the LX10, and think I may keep it. However, it has many problems that are not making me happy, and I realize now I won't be able to accept it as my 1 true love of my life.
I so desparately wanted to love this camera with all my heart and soul, and I don't think it's too much to ask for either.
After reading a lot of reviews on this camera, I even came to respect other cameras review authors had compared it to, when trying to replace their old camera with a new generation model with better specs.
I have no affiliation with Adorama, but have purchased from them for decades, because they have best price and no sales tax:

Reading the Adorama reviews, there were several really great comments from users on there:
poor man's RX-100V
The camera appears to be carefully engineered and manufactured.
Owner's Manual for Advanced Features provides accurate explanations for putting this camera into practical use.
Features that drew me to this camera: 4 K Video, 4K Photo, WiFi, Extended ISO to 25,600, 49 Focus Points
Low light capabilities are very impressive, on the level of a full scale professional camera
Very good low light video capabilities
Very good macro capabilities
Very compact, fits in pocket
I agree with this reviewer; In my hands, this camera does seem to have very solid build quality:
I've dropped it several times while on the go - and the camera is far more durable than any other camera I've worked with before.
My own observations:
GREAT FEATURES:
- I love the little flash that is included; many cameras simply do not include a flash, and sometime it will save your ASS.
- I love the size; this must be one of the smallest LARGE SENSOR 4K cameras made today. I mean it's small, and it's powerful!
- While not cheap ($550) it's not expensive (>$1000)
- Low light capabilities are VERY GOOD.
- Macro capabilities are VERY GOOD.
PROBLEMS:
- this camera can only take about 20 mins of video at one time, and then it shuts itself off. It does not alert me it is overheating, it simply says it has reached some kind of internal limits and is shutting off the video!
- This video limit problem was never identified directly, but it is not:
a) memory limits, i have a 64GB card in it that has no problem keeping up with other cameras I own, and can easily record over an hour of 4K video at 100mbps
b) Not a battery power limit. I can accept a camera that requires batteries to record video and will accept a camera that I could replace memory and batteries to continue recording with ONLY THOSE LIMITATION; sadley this is not that camera..
Some kind of vague message comes up, that the camera has reached its internal limits and must shot off, after about 15-20 minutes of video recording. SO LAME!
I encountered this problem with BOTH 1080P and 4K video, so I have NO IDEA what to think about this. I know it's not battery, I know it's not memory limits. I assume it is either overheating (the camera does not seem especially hot, and I have the view finder UP, and away from the body of the camera so it can cool off as soon as possible).
I don't think the camera is overheating, SO,
I think it's some kind of internal limit placed on how long a video it will allow to be recorded at one time.
This may be a limitation EMBEDDED IN THE CAMERA such that it is not designated a video camera, and qualified for sale as a STILL CAMERA?!
My own comment:
I WISH I KNEW MORE ABOUT THIS SUBJECT
Another reviewer:
I have owned and used other cameras in this range and I won't hesitate to say this is the best camera that I have used!
- With superb picture quality, ease of use, user friendly screen and all the features you cannot ask for more.
- Love the touch screen. I cannot imagine how I used cameras without the touch screen.
- 4K photo is awesome, you will never miss a memorable moment.
- This is the first time I used 4K photo in a camera.
- It has a fast lens and photos even in low light condition is amazing.
CONS: - only complaint: battery life - You need to keep spare batteries with you.
FINAL ANALYSIS:
- I have yet to FIND, a small compact camera (with a NICE LENS that can zoom) that can record video at 4K and not shut itself off after 20-30 minutes.
- I DO NOT FIND THIS FACT ACCEPTABLE
- THIS CAMERA CAN NOT BE OPERATED WHILE NOT ON BATTERY POWER - it will NOT accept being plugged into USB power and operate at the same time
- I DO NOT FIND THIS FACT ACCEPTABLE
