My wife and I took our daughter for a stroll to try to get her to take an afternoon nap. The weather has been on and off here today with patches of rain and sunshine, cold one minute, humid the next. I took the camera out and got some interesting shots I will post sometime.
At this time of year, the wild flowers smell so great and even though we were walking alongside a relatively busy road, there are flowers everywhere. It is nice in Finland summer time if not always raining, the rest of the year has its moments too.
This little guy was resting on a thistle plant catching some rays. It is no more than a few millimetres long in total. I took the shots with a 40-150mm lens and extension tubes. It was quite windy and the plants were moving a lot and I found it hard to capture decent definition. It is fun to try though.
The other problem is my wife, , patience is not her virtue when it comes to me and photography :) I could spend hours in a patch of bushes exploring but instead a had a few seconds, she will say it felt like hours though.
On a branch of the bush next to the caterpillar, there were these tiny things too, again, I couldn't get the greatest picture. Does anyone know what they are? They look a bit funny all sitting there at the same angle. back legs in the air.
I really enjoy taking the time to explore the plants for little interesting things and I have a few other photos from today too I can put up later. My wife was saying that sometimes she would like to move to the country so our daughter can play in the wild flowers and chase butterflies in safety. I am a country boy, I am not sure she knows what living out there really entails. Finland is not like Australia though when it comes to distances, you are never far from somewhere.
Today, I was looking for some pictures for some articles. 99 percent of the time I use my own pictures for my posts and the other one percent is by necessity for some reason or another. I am sure that I could find more suitable and relevant pictures at times but I prefer to offer as much of it as original and my content as possible. Perhaps it is silly and I should use web images more often.
Looking forward to getting some writing done tonight, so see you soon with something a little meatier than a caterpillar hopefully :)
