I wonder who gets the reference in the title.
I mentioned a few weeks back that I was buying a secondhand macro lens from a friend of mine but, I haven't had a chance to play with it until an hour ago when I took these of a candle wick. The lens is an Olympus 60mm 2.8 for a micro four thirds camera (I have an Olympus EM-1). These are unedited other than pretty heavy crops to 16:9, as I wanted to see what was going on.
I have never had a dedicated macro lens so I am looking forward to playing more with it and then getting a flash involved with some insects or something. I don't know really yet but, that is the fun of a new lens :) What does interest me though is seeing if I can take some decent shots inside the house without having to explore too far afield as at the moment, I don't have a lot of time but I do want some more photos for my collection. Macros can tell some very interesting stories as they add details most never see and textures and layers to what is so familiar.
My daughter is awake from her nap now and eating and I am thinking of taking her to an indoor playground as a surprise (and because she had a longer than usual nap and needs to burn energy) instead of going for our usual coffee trip. We might do that tomorrow anyway still of course as both of us enjoy the company.
See you in the evening,
Taraz
