This collection of pictures was taken at different places in Dalarna/Sweden. It gives a pretty good impression of the typical landscape in Southern Dalarna.
In general you will find many lakes in Scandinavia, and of course also in Dalarna: big lakes, small lakes - well... all types of lakes :) The water is usually very clean, and you don't have to bother to go swimming, although the water may be pretty cold.
The forests offer a good mix of evergreens and deciduous trees, although pinetrees seem to be the most common trees. There are wide areas of coherent forests.
Close to towns and villages you will find lots of small roads in the woods, which usually have been made for lumberjacks. The Swedish wood industry is not destroying the forests irreversibly. The Swedes implemented a very efficient system to ensure tree regrowth and they have strict rules about whether an area is allowed to be touched at all or not.
The good thing about these wood trails is, that you always want to know what is behind the next curve. Since there is no way you will ever know all of these trails, there will be many surprises :)
I hope you enjoyed this little picture tour!
