Trying to make the first $ out of photography? Check this out
Here's a list of things you should try in order to earn some extra money:
- Go to Stock Photos’ website - learn what's trending there and how can you shoot something good to sell there
- Events - Photographic events can be really profitable because the more experience you gain the more people you know and so, the more clients you have (if you're good enough)
- Private Photoshoots - learn more about technical theory and apply that on some portraits, for exemple.
- If you don't have it yet, create an Instagram account just for your photos - IG is your online portfolio, therefore your clients can see your work and check if it is worth the money they would pay you for an event/session e.t.c. Be aware of Instagram algorithm and line your Marketing strategy
- Don't charge your first photoshoots - that way you gain more portfolio and you also learn more without feeling some pressure of having to do a good job
- Make postcards and sell them in local stores/places - Tourists love postcards, specially if different from the ones they're used to see
- Don't be afraid to fail - failing is learning, and learning is great
- Have a good time - if you are relaxed and happy with yourself while taking photos, the results will be so much better, trust me
