For the past couple of years, I've re-discovered my passion for photography. As a result, I have about a bazillion shots collecting dust on my hard drive (although I do share a number on my site and social media... like, a lot... LOL!).
But when it comes to my all time favorite, I had to pick this one for Dexter's hash tag (read about it HERE), more for the meaning behind the shot, than for any kind of technical merit -
I took this photo of my eldest back in June. We'd gone to my hometown of Gloucester, MA for a few days to help my mother, who was having breast cancer surgery. After a very long day at the hospital, we found out my mother's procedure was successful, but she needed to stay overnight for observation.
Caillean asked to stop by her favorite beach (Niles) on the way back to my mother's place so we could decompress. When we got there, most of the sun worshipers had gone home, and we had the sand and ocean mostly to ourselves. After about an hour of looking for shells and sea glass while watching the sunset, we started back towards the car. Cailli stopped at the water's edge to rinse her feet, and stood there for a few moments, soaking up the beauty of it all. So for me, this picture represents an amazing moment of peace and hope.
I loved this shot so much that when I saw this quote from The Happsters, I just had to turn this into a quoto. When I shared it on my social media (naturally tagging The Happsters), I got a big o' ❤️ from the quote author. YAY!
Thanks so much to Eric () for posting about this (which is how I knew it was a thing - LOL!) and extra thanks to Dexter (
) for coming up with this idea!
