My Year In Travel: 8 Months On The Road
Part One: I had a hell of a year. So much happened, I was all over the globe never knowing that my job would keep me away for so long.
Unlike a lot of digital nomads I have a home base, in California and pets.
My travels started in January with two weeks in Las Vegas but ironically this stint isn't even included in my 8 month calculations.
January was devoted to tech/travel at CES the largest Consumer Electronics Show in the world held annually in Las Vegas. Not only am I a social media manager I also am a writer/influencer and tech innovation is my passion. With four clients on the floor, 500,000 people, no sleep, plus working for my other clients my life was insanity but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way.
Here is a quick time-lapse out of my hotel window.
February was the month I decided to depart for what I thought would be only a couple of months so I packed accordingly, winter and spring and left the last week of the month.
My destination was also my favorite place in the world: Paris, staying at a lovely apartment on the Ile Saint-Louis. I write about hotels so this was the first time I ever detoured from some of my favorite hotels in this lovely city. The apartment I chose was in a new part of a city that I know so well and try to visit at least once a year. For the first time in my life I felt like a local rather than a visitor. A stunning neighborhood where I felt welcome and in a city known for gray skies I was lucky enough to feel the warmth of the sun every day for the four days I was there. Paris is magical. The music in the air, the laughter and the sheer beauty of this city that feels like home.
Part Two: On the first day of March I chose to leave in the manner in which i always do, abruptly for my next adventure. Madrid. That story tomorrow...
