When you stand on the bank of a river, you do not always understand how fast it's flowing. But this can be understood if you observe the movements of some objects.
Here is an example. The first photo is the Urals during ice drift. And the second, this Ural in two days. In fact, the river was free of ice in less than a day.
This lonely ice floe emerged from the old riverbed. Nowadays, the old riverbed is already a lake with access to the main current. And this ice floe passed by a place where on the shore we roasted a shish kebab, in less than a couple of minutes.
