So, this is my last set of photos from my awesome hike up Mount Opal a couple weeks ago (I have new adventures to process and post now you know, haha).
This one is all the photos up above the alpine meadows and along the summit ridge, which has some awesome exposure in places and amazing views. Hope you enjoy coming along with me in these photos.

So, from the lower sections I described in Part 1 and Part 2, where is the view up towards just part of the ridge, but with the summit in view at the top right.
The other direction (looking north) has massive gendarmes and from what I understand, not easily traversed, so I've never ventures off that way.
There are a few great boulders for photo ops just before that final climb. You can see the alpine meadow in the lower right from the previous photo sets.
Don't look off this to your right , no one would want to fall down that way!
Further up on the ridge now, the huge number of surrounding peaks start to show themselves.
The awesome altitude here is evident as you look across the tips of the ranges and see the vast rockies extending behind, with so many great places I've been to. Off to the left distance in the photo, you can see the Lower Kananaskis lake.
Here you can get a sense of the sheer drop and exposure this ridge has for nearly all of its 3km traverse, which makes it pretty exciting and nerve racking in places. Its a great run ridge walk, you will never beat the view.
Deeper into the range, there are some impressive peaks behind the mountain and inviting green meadows and valleys (I'd love to camp there sometime).
Another glimpse at the vast peaks along the Opal range looking norther with endless Rocky mountains.
And the south, there is a huge drop here at the end of the ridge walk (unpassable) with grizzle peak in center of photo, which is another great hike in the area I've done. To the right, a better view of Lower Kananaskis lake.
And my favorite views are of course always the panoramas. Click for large versions if you want to see more detail.
One of the main cairns people have built along the ridge walk.
What? A rainbow below us! Sweet
Panoramas for the win!!! Check out the full rainbow down in the left side as well. We got to enjoy this beauty the whole way back but never got a drop ourselves.
I have to admt, its the first rainbow I've seen from above in the mountains, and it is VERY memorable. What a day, what a hike.
I hope you enjoyed these photo series, I've had more recent adventures, and will keep the photos coming. Please follow, comment and let me know your thoughts. ENJOY!
