I've never had better hikes in the summer than ones where you finally achieve getting to a glacier. The cool refreshing ice and views is one of the most awe inspiring destination of any hiker and I wish I could hike to many more.
The mouth of this in the picture above was just the start of the huge ice mass and it is pretty humbling.
I visited this one solo, so I didn't venture up to far because of the risk, but it was awesome to at least visit the mouth of this beast.
