The Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño de Cebu is the home of the original and oldest religious relic in the Philippines in honor to the Holy Child Jesus. Many people, locals and tourists alike, flock to the Basilica to visit, venerate and admire and be amazed by the beauty of the religious artifacts on display.
From the ornately carved main door of the church to the huge original and old paintings of that lined up its walls, the Basilica is truly a church to behold.
Not only the Basilica home to the oldest and original religious artifacts, it is also home of the famous Magellan's Cross. The Magellan's Cross was planted by Ferdinand Magellan on April 21,1521 when he first came to visit Cebu. This is also the time when he converted the natives to become Roman Catholics.
