These frozen bubbles under Alberta's Lake Abraham might look like winter jewels, but you wouldn't want to be too close to one if it popped the bubbles are actually frozen pockets of methane, a highly flammable gas.As the methane bubbles float up from the lake's warm bottom, they get trapped under its frozen surface. There they stay, little artworks nestled behind a protective wall of clear ice. This place indicates beauty and danger both :D
