It seems like everyday something new is in bloom. The weather was great last weekend so it was time to take some more photos. I think it was only about three weeks ago I last did this but that is enough time for new things to bloom.
I have a story for you!
This Friday since we don't have air conditioning at our house we decided to go to the park to look at the fireflies. We happened to talk to an employee who mentioned that we were welcome to join them for a group night hike after the park is normally closed. Awesome! After the sun set she took us through the park showing us and listening with us to all the things you would miss during the day.
While on our hike she called various owls, she also was able to identify different birds by their calls alone. The best part, and the part I wasn't able to get pictures of unfortunately, was when we came down the trail into the floodplain. Here the fireflies were of a kind that would flash quickly like a strobe light and they were everywhere! It was a fantastic experience. If the parks by you offer a night hike, take it!
Now back to my photos.
A couple notes:
- I only photographed the wildflowers, I did not venture into the formal gardens.
- I don't know the names of most of these flowers but some of you were kind enough to identify them for me. That would be much appreciated.
I sometimes see criticism of photography posts if there isn't a lot of wording to go along with the photos. Remember that before I even started uploading these photos I had spent over an hour at the park and an hour at home sorting the photos. Then I had to write this post and upload it. So if you like photography please upvote this and other parts that you like. With steem such low value right now we should probably be up voting frequently.
Now a special one I'm calling "the lonely flower." I took this photo and turned everything but the flower to black and white. To see it check out my previous blog post.
