Good evening Hive friends!
How are you? After a weekend of rest, I had a crazy day. I arrived at work at 6am and only managed to leave at 5:30pm! I'm on my knees... But enough of making me feel like a poor thing... Let's go ahead, summer is getting closer and closer! Well, hey, we're barely out of winter now, but the desire for the weather to warm up and to make short-sleeved walks possible at night, doesn't get out of my head!
With this idea in my mind, I found myself looking at photographs of a vacation I took in the distant year of 2008 to a place in the Alentejo region called Porto Covo. If you ever come to my beautiful country, you can't miss the Costa Vicentina, which is what the western coastline of Portugal says, south of the Tejo river.
You certainly won't regret it. From fantastic cuisine, with freshly caught fish, to vegetables grown in the land and picked that same morning, everything that nature has to offer us, we have the possibility to have in a typical dish of this region. And then, of course, the beaches. More than crystalline waters and very fine sand, the close contact with the Alentejo coast and the strong sea currents make the whole scenario idyllic.
Naturally, in this very touristic town, street shops proliferate on the main street that leads down to the water's edge, offering passers-by a festival of color and captivating objects to take to the sand!
For today I want to share the photos of a short walk I took to the so-called "Buizinhos beach" and to "Praia Pequena".
The Alentejo landscape is very contrasting with this deep blue of the sea... the arid, reddish land, dotted with verdant cork oaks harmoniously distributed by hills that are not very prominent on the horizon, make the desire to spend a late afternoon taking a siesta a wish almost impossible to resist!
Hope you enjoyed my post today!
I have been sharing some ideas of places to visit for those who come to my Portuga, or even for those who live here and still don't know, or who feel like revisiting.
