Good evening Hive friends!
And behold, Friday night finally arrives! For many of you, the beginning of a weekend of well-deserved rest, and in which I include myself.
This week was a little tough, with a lot of extra hours at work, a presentation at a small forum or workshop for colleagues, and some stress because of some indecisions that still remain in my company, and that I thought would be explained today during a meeting called more than 4 weeks ago, but which unfortunately did not take place. The changes didn't happen because the meeting wasn't prolific, but because once again it had to be postponed, because of an unavoidable commitment from one of my colleagues. Therefore, I hope that next Friday, the day the meeting is rescheduled, things will go for the best.
As I told you in the introduction to this publication, this week was very busy. Just to give you an idea, I train practically 5 to 6 days a week, today was my first workout of the week!
It's true, I was already "hangover" from the gym!
As such, and since I took little advantage of the daylight during this long week, I had to resort to the bank of photographs that I took on other past occasions.
Today I want to share a set of monochrome photographs, which I had the opportunity to capture on one of my frequent visits to the North of the country. And you ask why I love the North of my Portugal so much. Well, because in fact it is where we can easily talk to a perfect stranger on a park bench, or in a cafe, without thinking that we are crazy, or that they are wasting time talking to a perfect stranger. A northerner's response may at first seem ruder, but that rudeness also brings with it sympathy and a taste for sharing. Often, and not infrequently, a perfect stranger can, in addition to offering you company, share your meal, or even offer you a beer! That didn't happen to me, because I was with a friend, and nothing unknown, so I was the one who took care to end our little trip to Praia de São Paio with a cold, golden beer accompanied by lupines, as it should not be.
Well, not wanting to go on too long, I'll tell you a little about the place I photographed this afternoon, on one of my short visits (2 or 3 days) to the north of Portugal.
This place has a very interesting history, very recently (compared to the age of the finds), around 1960, three runic engravings were identified in one of the rock formations that enclose the beach of São Paio. A practically deserted beach, only populated by a happy vacationer, who, indifferent to the thick fog that was felt in the region, very peacefully bathed in mist and sea air, and the discreet and very shy sun that insisted on passing the dense puffs of fog over the hit hard on fair, sun-hungry skin (can you spot him?)!
A geodesic landmark is always a point of interest for me, and like lighthouses, I can't remain indifferent to their presence. I had to ask my friend to photograph me in this practically cinematic setting... almost Franksteinian!
A small chapel also flanks this seafront, which, as it was not open when we approached it, I only registered it from a distance.
I hope you liked my publication.
I leave you all, and in particular to my friend pardinus, a picture of the beautiful and fresh beer (the first... ) ahahah that afternoon, in a tone of thanks for his motivation for me to be more active in this community!
Thank you my friend!
To him, and to all of you, a great weekend, even if you are working ;)
